This is a lovely cheese vat.  Copper coloured with lacquer to keep it that way.  Thin rim which has a rivetted mend which is a nice bit of interest to the vat.  Has drainage holes in at the moment which could be sealed if wanted for water.  Will make a wonderful feature either way.  Great centrepiece for courtyard or parterre or something.
