These magnificent 19th century cast iron urns are extremely rare.  I cannot find record of another pair of them of this magnitude, only smaller versions on step bases.  These are really beautifully decorated and are in very good condition.  The casting is very detailed and of a high quality.  Egg and dart rim, on baluster stem with lotus leaves and a round foliate base.  Im currently exploring which foundary these came from.  Certainly one of the highest quality at a time when cast iron was at its best.  I believe them to be French.
